IT'S A PATH TO BECOMING
WHO YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE
Modern technology has changed our personal lives and our work lives so drastically that it is difficult to know how to live successfully and meaningfully. Chances are you are working mostly on your own today. Gone are mentors, apprenticeships, and usable models from the past. Your job may come with a job description, but not with directions for being successful at it. Do you find yourself wanting to get ahead and wanting to be successful but knowing that you are not making the progress you think you should be making? And who teaches you how to balance your time between work and play, career and family? You may end up with a wheel of life that is out of balance and that doesn’t match your values. And this unbalanced wheel may make for a very bumpy ride. In some parts of your life you may achieve great satisfaction while in others you feel deprived and shortchanged. By making decisions in isolated, one-at-a-time fashion do you neglect important areas, such as your physical health, or intimate relationships? Lacking an overall picture of how you want your life to be, feeling pressured by “to-do’s” and too little time, whatever you’re doing feeling there is something else you should be doing instead--does this sound familiar?
If so, how can you change any of this in your life? Believe it or not, you actually have the answers inside yourself. But you may not know how to find them. That’s where a personal/business coach comes in. When you talk to a coach, he or she listens intently, both to what you say and what you don’t say. The coach gets the message—what you really want for your life. Together you explore ways to achieve what will satisfy your deepest desires, those things that will give you balance and fulfillment, and let you enjoy the process of your life. Having a coach is sort of like having a friend at your side to keep you on target, and remind you of your strengths (even the ones you don’t realize you have!)--to help you become who you’ve always wanted to be.
If there are places you feel “stuck”—perhaps because of things you have experienced or things that make you feel out of your comfort zone—a specially trained coach, a “certified energy coach,” can teach you how to reduce or eliminate whatever is keeping you stuck. In addition to training in general coaching I have had this special training for using the energy work I was already skilled in. But when I use it in coaching, the focus is still on coaching; it doesn’t become psychotherapy. I am also trained in executive coaching and in working with small business owners, in addition to being trained in personal coaching.
I have also had the wonderful privilege of working with an expert in business management and planning, to create the "Handbook of Effective Management: How to Manage or Supervise Strategically." This book gives all the essentials for being effective in those functions. The principles apply whether it’s as complex as managing a large corporation or limited to keeping a small family functioning well. The book is valuable for both beginners and professionals. For more information about it click above on "Links for Info."
Also click on "Links for Info" for links to websites that give more information on several of the energy therapies I use in my practice.
Telephone Coaching
Many coaches have found that coaching by telephone is not only very effective, but it has some advantages over face-to-face coaching. First of course it saves travel time, especially for people living in a large city. It also has other advantages. It takes the focus off the distractions of surroundings and appearances, and keeps it on the business at hand. Often it makes it much easier for a client to talk about issues he or she might feel embarrassed about. And if no coaching services are available in the client's area it gives access to the services at a distance. I am experienced in doing both coaching and counseling by phone. I like it, and my clients have liked it. If you are interested in coaching services, call me at (404) 231-9568 to arrange for either in-person or telephone coaching.
